The annual Walk-a-thon for Brandon’s House Counseling Center, Inc. is just around the corner! Our Walk-a-thon will be held on Sunday, April 11th beginning at 3 pm. We’ll begin at DePauw Methodist, next to Brandon’s House and across from New Albany High School, and we’ll walk through New Albany (all flat!) for about 3 miles or 5k. We’re holding an Open House this year, too, to really get geared up for the Walk-a-thon! Mark your calendars to stop by Brandon’s House the week of March 1st, any time from 1 to 7 pm. Anyone who stops by Brandon’s House to support this year’s Walk-at-hon will enjoy delicious, gourmet treats made for us by a Sullivan graduate who majored in making melt-in-your-mouth pastries, cookies, rolls, and breads! It’s our way of saying “thank you” to the folks who help make this our biggest fundraiser year after year.
You can register for the Walk-a-thon when you visit Brandon’s House, and anyone who pre-registers and orders and pays for our wonderful Walk-a-thon t-shirts – with another great design from Stacey Freibert this year! – will pay only $5 for each shirt ordered. That’s less than what we pay for them! The shirts will be $10 if you order after March 4th.
You can sign up to be a Walk-a-thon sponsor, too! A donation of $100 or more means that your name or your group’s or company’s name will be listed on the Walkathon shirts, and if you sign up to be a sponsor before February 26th, you will be able to set up a small display during Open House week. Open House guests will see your display and will know that you are 100% behind Brandon’s House and the work we do! Recruit some friends or co-workers, and bring a group. Let us know your group has raised $100 by February 26th, and we’ll recognize your group that week, too. Donations of any amount are appreciated!
Events like the Walk-a-thon allow Brandon’s House to keep giving away professional counseling services to teenagers and their families. With your help, we have given away more than $1,580,000 worth of services. We’ve worked with nearly 3000 families in our community. We believe that we are making a difference, one teen at a time. Thanks for signing up to support the Walk-a-thon and being a part of that difference!
